Description

Diatomaceous Earth – Chemical Free Food Grade

Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a remarkable, all-natural product made from tiny fossilised water plants or algae. DE is a naturally occurring siliceous sedimentary mineral compound from microscopic skeletal remains of unicellular algae-like plants called diatoms. These plants have been part of the earth’s ecology since prehistoric times. It is believed that 30 million years ago the diatoms built up into deep, chalky deposits of diatomite. The super-fine diatoms are mined and ground up to render a powder that looks and feels like talcum powder. The coarse ground is less dusty and looks like fine gravel consistency. DE is approximately 3% magnesium, 33% silicon, 19% calcium, 5% sodium, 2% iron and many other trace minerals such as titanium, boron, manganese, copper and zirconium.

Diatomaceous earth may be used for feeding to animals, dusting through animal’s coat or dusting house for pest control.
It can also be used in the garden – in greenhouses or outdoors on fruits, vegetables, flowers, grains and grass, up to and including the day of harvest.

Available in 300g jar or 1.5kg bucket

*Diatomaceous earth is not sterilised and is for animal/garden use only.
